Why Labels Have Exploded – And Why I Don’t Use Them in My Work

Let’s have a chat about labels.

From the outside, my work might seem unconventional. I don’t care for boxes or the endless categories society keeps multiplying – especially in the last five years. Labels have become currency. They get passed around like badges of identity, often worn with pride, but more often, they’re locking people into limitation instead of liberation.

I’m passionate about working with people facing deep, serious problems – the kind mainstream approaches often miss or can’t reach. My work addresses the mind, body, and soul. What I offer is different. My way is highly effective because it’s rooted in neuroscience and practical strategies that rewire how the brain processes and responds. This breaks down old patterns so you can step free from the stories and limits imposed on you. Many of my clients say it’s an experience they don’t get anywhere else.

As a solution-focused psychotherapist, my journey over two decades has taught me one clear truth: lasting change doesn’t come from fitting into a label – it comes from breaking free of them.

Labels have exploded in use – and not for the better. People cling to them like lifeboats, thinking they’re safe, but more often, they’re building cages.

This isn’t for everyone. Some won’t like what I’m about to say – and frankly, I don’t care. If you come to me fixated on a label, defending it, hiding behind it, or using it as an excuse not to grow, I’m not the practitioner for you. I work beyond labels, beyond the mainstream frameworks that feed them. It’s different, it works, and it requires you to meet yourself without the armour of an identity that was probably handed to you by someone else.

When a client starts defining themselves by a diagnosis, a personality type, or some neatly packaged identity, I stop them. I’m not here to reinforce their box – I’m here to dismantle it. Because when the label drops, the real work begins. That’s where lives change.

I get that labels can feel like a lifeline at first – giving language to pain and a sense of belonging. I’ll meet you there, but I won’t let you stay stuck. I’ll stand with you in the dark and push you to step into something bigger than the story you’ve been told.

This isn’t mainstream work, and it’s not always comfortable. I’m not here to make you comfortable – I’m here to help you get free. I’ll sit with you in the hardest places and still challenge you to rise.

If you want to cling to your label, I’m not your therapist. But if you’re ready to face the raw truth of who you are and step into the life you’re meant to live, then we can begin. I’m here to walk that journey with you – no fluff, no judgment, just real work that changes everything.
