December hits different this year. This whole year has been about shutting things down, not starting them up. A 9 year in numerology will do that – it ends cycles you’ve dragged for far too long. No more patching. No more “maybe it will get better.” This is the point where your body just says, “Enough. We’re finished here.”
2025 didn’t ask for transformation the pretty way. It pulled apart anything held together by pretending – the relationships where you were performing a version of yourself you don’t even like, the jobs that happily drained you, the coping strategies that once kept you afloat but now drown you.
And it’s lined up with the Year of the Snake – the slowest, most uncomfortable healing energy. The Snake doesn’t rip. The Snake uncoils. It strips you down layer by layer, taking away the identities and stories that were never truly yours. It makes you see where you abandoned yourself to keep the peace. It makes you tell the truth you’ve avoided for years. It’s painful. It’s emotional. And it’s necessary.
I see it every day in my sessions. People aren’t walking in to talk about future goals or dreams. They’re walking in saying, “I can’t keep doing this the way I’ve been doing it.” They’re leaving relationships eight years past their expiry date. They’re saying no to being the family punching bag. They’re putting down responsibilities that never belonged to them. There’s less explaining, less apologising. Just a quiet decision to end the things that hurt.
But the funny part about endings? The situation can be over, but the habits can hang around — the second-guessing, the urge to please, the fear of being too much or needing too much. That voice that says, “Don’t rock the boat.” That’s the part December brings up. It’s the final sweep of the broom.
This month can feel heavy — like you’re emotional for no reason or exhausted from nothing. There is a reason. You’ve been shutting down your old life all year. Your system is tired from carrying the truth. Closure isn’t peaceful. It’s awkward and messy and full of self-doubt. But it’s still closure.
And now the energy is about to flip.
In January we shift into 2026 – a Universal 1 year and the Year of the Fire Horse. Completely different frequency. The Snake dismantles. The Fire Horse ignites. Where the Snake stripped everything back, the Fire Horse says, “Right – now let’s go.” It’s forward movement. It’s passion. It’s purpose. It’s momentum that doesn’t wait for permission. Think wild horse energy – untamed, direct, powerful, alive. Yes!!!
So if December feels like you’re standing in the doorway, not quite gone from the old and not quite ready for the new – that’s exactly what’s happening. You’re in the cross-over. You don’t need to rush into next year. You don’t need to know the plan. You just need to stop trying to breathe life back into what’s already dead or what is not meant for you.
Let the things that are done be done. Let the old stories stay in the old year. Let the Snake finish its work.
